Ten commandaments of Corporate Social Responsibility

Over the next years Expo Hoteles & Resorts will considerably expand its social and environmental responsibility policies, far beyond merely complying with all the legal requirements, by gradually implementing the following actions:

Recycling and reducing the waste generated by hotels.
Reducing the use of energy.
Reducing the carbon footprint (CO2 emissions).
Improving energy efficiency at our current facilities, increasing the use of solar energy and gradually promoting the use of renewable energies.
Reducing the use of water in general and recycling waste water.
Usar de forma responsable los productos de limpieza y reducir el uso de productos químicos.
Responsible use of the cleaning products and reducing the use of chemical products.
Raising employees’ awareness and informing them of environmental and social concerns.
Taking part in regional solidarity initiatives by providing donations and volunteer work.
Promoting integration policies for people at risk of social exclusion from the labour market.
Raising guests’ awareness about how hotels facilities should be used in a sustainable manner.

Foundation Conxita Masdeu i Ferré

Expo Hoteles & Resorts is also setting up the Foundation Conxita Masdeu i Ferré, which will mainly be aimed at providing aid to medical care centres for children in each of the destinations where there is a hotel belonging to our group.
This year 2011, Expo Hotels & Resorts has launched collaborative actions in solidarity with Casal dels Infants del Raval in Barcelona, the House of Charity of Valencia, Cudeca Foundation in Malaga, the Red Cross of Arona in Tenerife and UNICEF.
